First week of book checkout….love being back in the library!

When looking at this photo, you can predict that Ms. Smith's class is working on morning calendar time. However, it goes even deeper than that! If you look at the apples on the calendar, you will see a pattern. Spots and no spots. Teachers work hard to incorporate multiple standards into one activity. They truly are amazing!

Game 1 Lieb vs. Harnew…. Lieb won! Congratulations!
Today is Lieb vs. Columbus Manor in game two. Lieb will play second round again today, so approx. at 5:00p.m.
Those coming to cheer on Lieb, please attend with a parent. All fans are asked to cheer from the fan seating area away from the sidelines. Feel free to bring lawn chairs for the event.
Thanks for all who came out for the District Back to School Bash!

Today, we had our first assembly in many years! Students learned all about P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavior in School) and Assembly "Cool Tools". Teachers demonstrated how to sit pretzel style and do a silent chair. Thank you to our PBIS Tier 1 team

Students had a blast last week at Celebration Day! Students played games like Pool Noodle Javelin, Lieb 500, Bean Bags, Basketball, Bubbles, and so much more!

The 5th grade students had a blast playing Lieb staff at a kickball game yesterday! Students enjoyed watching the game. We have some talented kickball players in our Lieb Family!

A big thank you to Andy's Frozen Custard in Burbank! They donated the ice cream for our students yesterday. We truly have the best community ever. We encourage our families to visit the many businesses that have helped us this year!

Congratulations to our Kindergarten Graduates!
The last day for ALL students (including Kindergarten) is Friday, June 3 at 12:10pm.
We have many fun activities planned for the last few days of school. Please dress your child in "play" clothes tomorrow for Celebration Day.

Last week, 5th grade students did a special Lieby Eagle Painting activity that serves as a keepsake for when they go to Simmons this fall! Thank you to the 5th grade teachers and Ms. Krull for this fun event!

Today students in Mrs. Christianson’s class performed “Mother Goose to the Rescue” directed by Mrs. Saldivar. Students did an AMAZING job and worked extra hard. Way to go!
Thank you to our group of 5th grade parents (not all pictured here) who put on the 5th grade breakfast this year! WOW! Students had a feast! Thank you to McDonald's (Bridgeview), Chick-fil-A, Les Brothers, The Nile (Bridgeview) and Alwatan Bakery for their donations.

Congratulations to our Lieb Choir & Ms. Torrey for their performance yesterday evening! Students sang "Tongo" and "How Far I'll Go" from Moana. Those kids showed so much courage & confidence performing on the stage in front of our new curtains.

Students in Ms. Queenan and Ms. Pfiffner's class released their butterflies today! Students started with caterpillars and saw the different progressions of development into butterflies.
4th Grade Students participated in a Wax Museum yesterday. Students researched an iconic person, dressed up, and gave short explanations of their research. It was so fun and thank you to everyone who attended!!!
Congratulations again to our Lieb PTA Scholarship Recipients. Congratulations to Sam Wessel who will be attending Triton College for Plumbing & Dominic Niceforo who will be attending U of I for Computer Science. Thank you Lieb PTA & previous Lieb principal, Mr. Gregory Porod!
Want to know what staff do on half days? These days are so vitally important to our school system. On Friday, staff received a short professional development on safety from our School Security Officer, Officer Bill on various emergency scenarios as well as upgrades to our safety equipment. Staff also collaborated on lesson planning, updated student record files, met in meetings with the English Language Learner, Special Education Departments, and Scheduling Committees, planned end of year events, started book/material inventory, etc. It truly is amazing how hard our staff work. We just love our Lieb Family!
