Notice regarding the use of an additional emergency day for Thursday, February 3rd.
Emergency Day - Wednesday, February 2nd
Ms. Smith's 1st grade class and Ms. O'Neill's 2nd grade class are doing a fun writing activity! They are introducing the "writing process" with the analogy of making a sandwich. The kids are having a blast!
Ms. Masoud knows how to have fun with her class! She has a great sense of humor and we appreciate her willingness to accommodate to student needs as they are constantly changing.
Ms. Garoufalis and Ms. Wyatt began social media and internet safety in the 5th grade today. Our school Social Worker and our Instructional Technology Teacher will be visiting 5th grade classrooms to talk about safe internet usage and social media.
Kids loved Sing-a-long Club this year! Singing is proven to be beneficial for health, happiness, and community. Thank you to Ms. Torrey, our music teacher for allowing this opportunity for some of our grade-levels.
Ms. Koziokas "does it all". She wears so many hats! She has been a big help to Lieb this year being an instructional assistant, a substitute, and sometimes even jumping into teachers' classrooms to give an extra hand! Thank you, Mrs. K for being a part of our Lieb Family.
Meet Mr. Beemsterboer (Mr. B)! He is the Coordinator for Student Services in our district. We are so thrilled that his office is at Lieb. Mr. B is a master at not only assisting with students in Special Education, but also any child that may need accommodations or modifications.
Ms. J is the most recent staff member to join our Lieb family and we are so glad that she did! In addition to helping out in the classroom, Ms. J helps out at breakfast and makes sure kids get a good start to their day.
Ms. Barrientos is a wonderful asset to Lieb School! She works hard to support students in the classroom, during lunch/recess, and (as shown here) outside in the cold. She always has a positive attitude and never complains. Great job, Ms. Barrientos!
We know that the guidelines for COVID-19 has limited parents in our building. We wanted to take a minute for you to meet our secretaries: Ms. Hamad & Ms. Wierzbicki! They are so important to the function of our school and serve as the frontline. The office is open from 8-4, M-F.
Ms. Barragan works with small groups to support them in ELA. Her calm & encouraging demeanor has blossomed huge growth in her students!
Ms. Niceforo is our school librarian. She spreads her passion for books & learning & is always willing to jump in and lend a hand.
The 5th grade students did a great job at their first band concert this month! This was a long time coming and we are so proud of their dedication, confidence, and hard work. A big thank you to Mr. Hostetler & Ms. Berger!
Our music teacher, Ms. Torrey and Kindergarten were working with scarves this week. Students learn about patterns of 3, internal pulse, expression, and coordination.
Ms. Shalabi is our permanent substitute at Lieb School and is a gift! She is flexible, professional, and a great problem-solver. She never hesitates to jump in where needed. Thank you!
Ms. Schmitz and Ms. Garoufalis do great work alone AND together! Whether it's supporting students speech and building their confidence to helping families who need more assistance, this duo is not to be stopped! This week, they were teaching how to show good manners.
Ms. Ghosein is working with her students using our new phonics curriculum, FUNdations. It's so FUN!! Ms. Ghosein can switch out one letter (ex: rap and rat) and the students tap it out to read the word. It's amazing!
Ms. Freeman and the 5th grade students are working hard this week, making edits to each other's work. Thankfully, our technology helps make this an interactive, real-world practice. Students use google suite to edit each other's work.
Ms. Grela was reviewing "unique" as a vocabulary word. Students got to draw and explain what makes them unique as an individual. Ms. Grela teaches academic and important self-love and kindness concepts. Thank you, Ms. Grela!
Ms. Reed not only teaches dribbling and coordination, but she also reminds kids about their left vs. right hand. PE covers so many important concepts while keeping kids active and healthy! Thank you, Ms. Reed!
